Overlays
Video shout-out
Open VSO settingsType !vso @streamer in chat and a clip from their channel plays on your overlay — bigger than a text shoutout, less work than a host.
What it's for
- Lifting up smaller streamers in real time without leaving the broadcast.
- Welcoming raids with something more than “thanks for the raid”.
- Filling 30 seconds of dead air with a friend's hype clip.
How to set it up
- Create a hosted source in the Sources section of the settings page. The
widtoken binds the overlay to your saved settings. - Drop the hosted overlay link into OBS as a browser source on your shoutout scene. This is what plays the actual clip.
- Tune the command names + visuals. Save when you're done — the overlay picks up changes automatically.
- Test it. Drop a
!vso <username>in your own chat. The overlay reads it from Twitch IRC, fetches the target's clips, and plays one.
FAQ
- Which clip gets picked?
- The overlay pulls from the target channel's recent clips and selects one matching the length and recency rules you set. If the target has no clips, nothing plays and the command silently no-ops.
- Who can run
!vso? - By default, mods + broadcaster. Permissions live in the command-permissions section on the settings page.
