Free OBS BRB scene with auto-playing Twitch clips

A BRB scene that auto-cycles your channel clips while you step away. Triggered from chat with !brb, ducks Spotify volume so it doesn't fight your music, clears with !brbstop. Free OBS browser source — no subscription, no platform lock-in.

What this builds

A "Be Right Back" overlay that's actually entertaining while you're away. Instead of a static logo with sad lo-fi, the BRB Player overlay auto-plays clips from your own Twitch channel (or a custom queue of YouTube / TikTok links), one after another, until you come back and stop it.

  • Channel clips mode — auto-fetches your top / most-viewed Twitch clips and plays them in shuffle or top order.
  • Custom queue mode — drop in YouTube, Twitch clip, TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook URLs and the BRB Player works through them.
  • Idle logo — between clips, or when there's nothing queued, the overlay falls back to a logo you upload.
  • Audio ducking — when a clip plays, the toolset dips your Spotify volume to a configurable percent so the clip's audio is audible without you manually riding the fader.

Setup

  1. From the dashboard, open BRB Player.
  2. Click Create your first source. Copy the URL.
  3. In OBS, create a dedicated BRB scene and add the URL as a browser source at 1920×1080. Browser source walkthrough if you're new to OBS.
  4. On the BRB Player tool page, set your Twitch channel name + enable chat commands. Pick your queue source — channel clips or custom queue.

Chat commands

CommandDefault permissionWhat it does
!brbModSwitch to the BRB scene + start playing.
!brbstopModClear the overlay back to the idle logo.
!brbnextModSkip the current clip.
!brbadd <url>ModAdd a URL to the custom queue mid-stream.

All command names are configurable. The default permission is mod-only so chatters can't boot you into BRB mid-fight.

Channel-clips filtering

In channel-clips mode you can scope what gets pulled:

  • Date range — last 7 / 30 / 90 / 180 / 365 days, or custom.
  • Minimum views — drop the low-traffic ones.
  • Clipper allowlist — only clips made by specific chatters (useful for community-clipper accounts).
  • Phrase exclude — skip clips whose titles match something you'd rather not surface.

Audio normalization

The single most common BRB-overlay problem is one clip blasting your stream at 3x the volume of the others. The BRB Player applies the same audio normalization the rest of the toolset uses — every clip is leveled to a target loudness (EBU R128 LUFS) before it plays.

Idle logo

When the queue is empty or between clips, the overlay shows the idle logo you upload on the tool page. Keep it under 200KB; PNG or WEBP, transparent background if you want it to compose over the BRB scene's gradient.

Pair with

Timer so chat sees a countdown ("back in 5 min") on the BRB scene, Chat Box so chat keeps talking while you're away, and Music so the music auto-ducks cleanly when a BRB clip plays.
